Disobedience
brings defeat (v. 1-5)

We should evaluate
everything we do through the grid of prayer and His word—the movies we
watch, the stuff we listen to and read, where we go, what we eat and drink.

As a church, we
should not begin new ministries, building programs or even encourage new
people to attend, if we are not dealing with the sin in the camp. I Cor
3:1-3

Yes, you! Teen,
Senior, Shy, Outgoing, Just here Sunday morning. I
know you’re only one person and you think, “it’s not
that big a deal”, but your sin or my sin may be the reason we aren’t seeing
more lives changed here. And if you aren’t growing spiritually, who do you
think is responsible?
Disobedience brings discouragement (v. 6-13)

Listen! We all
sin. Most of us have a sin that we really battle with at times. It’s not the
person who battles to beat their sin that defeats and discourages the body (we
have all been there). It is the brother or sister who doesn’t give a “hoot”
about their sin, or doesn't think it’s anyone else’s business.

sister is in sin and you know it, you must talk to them about it lovingly, gently

people that you attend WABC? What will your acquaintances thing about
your brothers and sisters, based on your behavior?

How will people remember
you? What memories will they have? Is the world a better place because you were
here?
Disobedience brings discipline (v. 25-26)
·
The opposite of
Rahab. Her faith and the faith of her family saved them. Achan’s sin and the
sin of his family obliterated the family name. God takes sin seriously!
