Sermon Notes The Primary Priority (Joshua 3:1-17)
- Entering
Canaan is entering the mature Christian
life. It is being prepared for Spiritual warfare. It is leaving the carnal
(fleshly) life behind and living a _______________________,
_________________ Christian life.
- Our belief system tells us God
_________________, Family _________________, Church third, followed by
job, etc. etc. But it doesn’t seem to be working.
- The Primary Priority
(Joshua 3:1-6)
- vs. 3 “Ark of the covenant of
the Jehovah your Elohim” = God’s covenant name
rather than just “ark of the covenant”.
- The
focus is not just on the “golden box”. It is on Jehovah (Yahweh) Elohim = The _________________, self existent, divine ruler
over all that exists.
- There was to be only one #1
priority: __________! Pr 14:12
God frequently
makes a new road rather than follow the old one (3:13-17)
- Are we trying to fix an old
road with worn out materials and methods, when God wants to build a
_______________ one?
- Joseph—Gen
50:20; Christ—Is 53:5
- Let’s
focus on the LORD (our Ark of the Covenant) and follow Him. Don’t try to
“_________” Him, just follow Him.
- This sounds mystical and scary. I feel out of control! What if
it doesn’t work? Does this sound
like “_________________” thinking to you?
Amazing
Things Phil 4:6; James 4:7; Rom 12:12-21; Eph
4:15
- God’s Word shows us the new
road. These are “__________ _______________” but we can’t experience them
unless our total focus, our total priority, is in the eternal, self
existent, divine ruler over all that exists.
- Winning Believers say, “I love the Lord, I’m focused on Him.
And by the way there’s a crisis in my life and He’s leading me through it on dry
ground. It’s ______________!
We
need Leaders who live with the Only Priority (3:7-12)
- 1 Cor
11:1; Phil 1:21
- Remember, winning life’s
battles is for every believer, not just some super saints. What are your
priorities? God wants to do some amazing things in your life. Will you
focus on Him and trust Him totally?
